2017 Goosecross Chardonnay

Bringing three aging elements together in one glass – steel tank, oak barrel and concrete egg – the 2017 Goosecross Chardonnay continues our passion of expressive wine making. With a stylistic foot planted firmly in France, the 2017 vintage shows a lot of Burgundian heritage. The glass hums with notes of citrus, green apple and white peach. There is a burst of purity and balance on the palate, with bold flavors of Meyer lemon, tangerine and brioche, accentuated by a layer of minerality and sweet tannin complexity.

2015 Goosecross State Lane Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2015 Goosecross State Lane Cabernet Sauvignon embodies our Yountville estate vineyard symbolizing both our sustainable and artisan spirit. Its bouquet showcases a few familiar faces like blackberry and dark chocolate, but it has a few surprises as well. Black Currant, licorice, spice, and molasses give it an almost baked pie quality. The mouth then surpasses all expectations with pure power and elegance. Bright acid hits the tongue and gives way to brambly black fruits that are interwoven with cassis, cedar, and vanilla bean. Finally, velvety chewy tannins give the wine incredible balance and a plush long finish. The 2015 Goosecross State Lane Cabernet Sauvignon will age gracefully for the next 10-15 years.

Aeros is the first wine we compose or blend from our State Lane vineyards. It represents what we feel to be the best blocks of vineyard in the given vintage and then the best individual barrels from within those blocks. The 2016 Aeros showcases a complex bouquet of Blackberry, Roasted Coffee, New Leather, Sage, and Thyme. The palate is rich and full highlighted with notes of Cassis, Dark Cherry, Plum, Bittersweet Chocolate, and Fresh Tobacco Leaf. We paired the 2016 Aeros at this year’s Aeros dinner with grass-fed New York Strip Steak, Marrow Bone with Candied Speck, Cauliflower Fritter, Bitter Greens, and Bordelaise Jus. The 2016 State Lane Aeros is beautiful now but will age gracefully over the next 10-15 years.
