2014 Goosecross Howell Mountain Petite Sirah

The nose is one of masticated dark fruit, with overtones of espresso, minerality and game. The palate explodes with red and black currant, cranberry, pepper and cherry. The tannins are firm, central, not overbearing but certainly not shy, while the acidity brings a sharp mouth-watering quality, helping balance the palate feel.  The wine presents an appealing challenge. There is a solid structure to invite an extended cellaring and the ultimate reward for patience. Conversely, enjoy it during its youth paired with hearty meats and cheeses.
